Get the Dropbox iPhone app

The app, if you couldn't guess, is finally released for the iPhone! And, it is stellar. I look forward to using it more. With the app, you can:

  • Access your Dropbox on the go
  • Download files for offline viewing
  • Sync photos and videos to your Dropbox
  • Share links to files in your Dropbox

iPhone Needs a New Home

this is a super nice redesign of an iPhone home screen. Something like this is only available if you jailbreak your phone. My is not, and I don't plan to unlock it. Bummer.

Boxcar app for iPhone

I saw this app advertised on Twitter today. Looks like a good one to have. But, I'm curious what the benefit of this one is, versus just buying an app that comes with push notifications. Maybe it is because you can choose which Twitter app you want Boxcar to integrate with.

Official Flickr App Arrives on iPhone. Any bulk upload ability??

I have only jumped around inside the app briefly. I immediately went over to the 'upload' section of the app. I wanted to see if you could bulk upload multiple photos - even maybe at least 5 like you can with the native iPhone library. No such luck though.

SimplyTweet 2.2 has been rejected @simplytweet

After 26 days of waiting, SimplyTweet 2.2 has been rejected.

The reason? - "We will not post applications that reference other applications in their search criteria." The keyword? "Tweeter".

It appears that it was rejected for trying to allow users to search for the word "tweeter". Even though (supposedly) that is the name of another application, it is a valid term to search for, in my opinion.

This is getting old, Apple. Fine if you want to reject it, but to take 26 days to do so is mega-lame.

I turned off my iPhone email notifications

Quite possibly one of the most liberating things I have done in a while. I think S and I will both benefit from this. :)

I fixed my iPhone calendar time zone mis-match

I am in Atlanta until next Thursday. When I got to work today, I had calendar notifications going off on my phone, which were an hour off. I finally found the setting that fixed this on my iPhone. I honestly didn't know if it was just a glitch, or what. But honestly, I don't know why this option exists. Why would not not want your calendar to match the time/time zone of your phone? Seems odd to me. Nevertheless, here is the path to fix it.

Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> Time Zone Support (all the way at the bottom) -> Set to off
