Michael’s posterous

Michael Lynton  //  I am married to Sarah and live in Austin, TX. I like to take photos of my food and Yelp about it. I workshift by day as an IT Sales Engineer, usually from home. I'm a fanatic of the cloud, tech, & personal finance. Still figuring out what I want to be when I grow up.

My first Timbuk2

Sarah and I went into town yesterday and stopped by the REI Gateway location. There was an REI garage sale at the Round Rock location earlier in the morning, but we don't have a membership (just yet). We decided to just go in and browse. However, I came across a clearance section of Timbuk2 bags. Now, I have always wanted a Timbuk2 bag - helplessly gawking over them whenever I go into stores that carry them. Back in college, I also had a messenger bag infatuation - it was definitely a weakness of mine.

I have had an Incase sling pack given to be from work, and have been using it for the past 4 years. The bag I found was a messenger bag, but also had a laptop compartment, which is awesome. When I was looking it over, it was hard for me to be objective about it. All I could think of was "I wonder how much it is". Well, the price was right. And Sarah encouraged me to go ahead and get it. So, I did.

Not until I got it home did I encounter how truly awesome this bag is. There are pockets galore! It is so functional. It also has not just one, but two lined sleeves for gadgets, which will prevent scratching - perfect for the iPhone.
